From a stint at a dreary communist factory, playing soccer for a major league club, earning a green belt in Kyok-sul (North Korean combat school), and studying for a medical and an engineering degree, to couriering top-secret information, brushing with the biggest VIPs in the Nation, playing cat-and-mouse game with thugs from military police and being denied entry to the US, Jack also likes to boast that he does not own a suit and made the brave step into a world without cable tv. He enjoys spicy foods, finds inspiration in absinthe, likes to loll around at the cottage, cook, watch old movies, work with a hammer, get a dog's wet lick on his nose and write novels in between.
Jack on his writing: "My novels involve frenzied pursuits of the truth. [...] Readers will find stories bordering on paranoia rooted in deep conspiracies involving governments and intelligence agencies. [...] I am particularly drawn to protagonists who are frail, flawed, and often struggling with their feminine sides. [...] The United States of America is a superpower in rapid decline. The CIA estimates suggest China will replace the US as the Nr 1 military and economic superpower by 2015 (why such a prediction would make into the public domain is a subject for a book in itself). The resulting rogue actions of the USINTEL present a fascinating subject for a writer... [...] Although my stories draw on current events, readers should not expect political statements."
